At minimum a basic level of fitness is
required before joining the military. Once you are in, you will
have to pass the BFA. Required standards are below.
Male
under 21 - 50 pushups, 75 sit-ups, 10:48 for the 2.4km run
21-25 - 40 pushups, 70 sit-ups, 11:18 for the 2.4km run
26-30 - 35 pushups, 65 sit-ups, 11.48 for the 2.4km run
31-35 - 30 pushups, 57 sit-ups, 12.18 for the 2.4km run
36-40 - 25 pushups, 50 sit-ups, 12.42 for the 2.4km run
41-45 - 20 pushups, 30 sit-ups, 13.12 for the 2.4km run
46-50 - 10 pushups, 20 sit-ups, 13.48 for the 2.4km run
51+ - 6 pushups, 15 sit-ups, 14.30 for the 2.4km run
Female
under 21 - 25 pushups, 75 sit-ups, 12:27 for the 2.4km run
21-25 - 21 pushups, 70 sit-ups, 13:30 for the 2.4km run
26-30 - 18 pushups, 65 sit-ups, 14.18 for the 2.4km run
31-35 - 15 pushups, 57 sit-ups, 15.12 for the 2.4km run
36-40 - 10 pushups, 50 sit-ups, 16.06 for the 2.4km run
41-45 - 7 pushups, 30 sit-ups, 16.54 for the 2.4km run
46-50 - 3 pushups, 20 sit-ups, 17.42 for the 2.4km run
51+ - 3 pushups, 15 sit-ups, 18.48 for the 2.4km run
However for enlistment you
only need to pass the PFA - minimum standards below.
Despite the low PFA
standards, it is recommended that your level of fitness is well above
